The War on Drugs
I would abolish the laws on penalties for controlled substances in Massachusetts, merely imposing a few controls similar to what we have for alcohol, one cannot sell it to minors etc. I would also decontrol hypodermic needles so that adults could buy them in pharmacies. This would eliminate the need to throw away the needle for fear of being in possession of it. It would also supply clean needles without the need for tax payer funded needle supply programs.
Republicrats kill people. The purpose of the drug laws supposedly is to prevent people from dying. But the war on drugs has taken on a life of its own with purposes of its own. Addicts who are arrested are deprived of drugs “cold turkey,” which can kill them.
There is no legal way for jail personnel to allow the addicts to have drugs to alleviate their illness. They can die without the drugs.
I know people have to obey the laws, but when commenting on the death of an addict all Republicrat DA Bennet had to say was that proper procedures were followed and that he felt good about it. He has been losing the war on drugs for years and hypodermic needles are littering some streets, and the Republicrats feel good about it.
The Sheriff also sounded a lot like the Nuremberg defendants.
As I said, they had to obey the law. But these people have spent thousands of dollars and years on their education and they cannot see anything wrong with someone dying in the jail because they could not get an item which would cost a few dollars if it were not for government bungling. A legislature that would allow such a situation is also stupid, as well as guilty.
We have also had crimes committed by people to buy drugs that would cost less than a dollar if it were not for government mismanagement.
